Yes, the Coppers are looking for me.
In case, anyone starts to have some wild imaginations.
I certainly didn't break the law.
It is something I ordered in the Net.
It looked like a pistol
(It is but it's not real. It's a rubber dart gun)and I have to prove it isn't to the coppers.
I know it sounds bizarre.
Seems that our local law have a strange way of defining firearms.
The obvious ones like GLOCKs, SIGs, S&W or H&K with their 9mm or Three Fifty Seven.
For that, I am not arguing in the name of public safety and Law & Order.
It becomes ridiculous when a BB gun which ostensibly is not a firearm is classfied as a firearm or arms.
(It doesn't fire bullets for you guys out there who don't know about it.)
Why do I get the feeling that Politicians who are science iliterate play a part in this ruling.......
This is what happen when you get Politicians who are economics or statistics braincases. They don't know what is science except how to pass them in exams and look good in dandy boy costumes.
Kissing babies and handing over of awards don't count in my book when he is utterly clueless about Science and Common sense.
(For crying out loud, this is the age of infomation & science!)
Even Toys weapons who looked like Real weapons is being examined by the cops. Specifically, the Arms & Explosive Dept.
YEAH! The Cops who handles the *Bang!* stuff also scrutinises toys and swords to sure it is safe for playing and such.
Ok, I won't argue about the super sharp swords that can dice a man into bacon.
Or the Real .44 Magnum that take your heads off.
Somehow I get feeling that the Cops just want a paper trail that lead back to Who and Who import this.
Going into the Cop house is getting into a habit for me.
It is strange when you haven't been flouting the law and some dumb civil servant thinks what you ordered in the Net is the Real McCoy.
OMFG, Can someone tell people these days not to be so ignorant?
It doesn't pay being DUMB or have your head in the sand!!!

SVB (Sex, Violence & Blood) The 2nd round
Now for my second part of this issue:
I don't advocate Sex, Violence and Blood on entertainment but I certainly don't ban them entirely. I mean whitewashing, denying them is not going help either.
Let's face it: they are not going away. And your sons & daughters including mine are going to be exposed to them one way or another.
This is my take on them:
1.) Sex: Let's face it. The next fun for all human beings other than wanking off.
I am very against underaged sex (it's ugh! bleh! pui! Death to Paedophiles!)
Teenagers.....that's a very sticky issue. Teenagers; I think they liked it RAW. Therefore no condoms used and teenage pregencies happened.
Well, I would prefer teaching them to used condoms and such. So as avoid such problems. The best is abstinence which is to some: NUTS!
Well, you can watch porn and wank off. No harm done......maybe the mess left behind....Heh heh heh!
2.) Violence: For place like here, this piece of earth is very insulated from the harsh realities of wars, mega crimes and sectarian problems. So we don't feel the pinch.
Even to point of having "Hawks" & "Doves" in here, the Hawks are the ones who strongly support an Armed Forces for defence & emergencies. The Doves will not take up arms no matter what. Even if some hostile bugger comes and mug'em silly. They will not fight back. ( I think this is so dumb.)
That's why till today, our armed forces has problems being accepted by the population.
We have to defend this mud-keep from any potential hostiles.
That's why we have a citizen army. So if any mega emergencies takes place, what are you going to do?
Complain? Moan & Bitch about the unfairness of life? Hide in hole? Or take an escape boat out?
In life or on a national level, one has to defend oneself against aggressors whether be a bully or a hostile faction.
Yes, violence cannot solve anything. But being a sitting duck isn't going help too.
3.) Blood: This one is not brainer. If you are cut, will you not bleed?
So to those people who think seeing blood is offensive, I think you are a pansy and spoilt brat who has an army servants at your beck & call. You don't get to see it and think it is taboo.
Well, taboo my ass!

My Wedding
I just got married in 1/7/07.
Yes, I got very drunk after downing 8 glasses of red/white wine.
I was not drinker for a start.
Then I, according to witnesses started to spout *profanities* like:
" I gonna Karma sutra my wife.......doggy style....donkey style....dinosaur style!
I WILL SCREW MY WIFE"
The best part is it's recorded for prosterity.
Married life is not tie me down! Ha! Ha!
Although I will still fulfill my duties as a husband.
I am not gonna tie myself to the home for whatever reasons.
Life goes on, I am not use my family as a shield/excuse/reason for shirking responsibilities. Unless mega emergencies happened.
Even so, I have to weight my priorities and make some hard choices.
Life is just too short to go on circles/cycles everyday.
Oh yes,
The favourite arguement for Movies, games and entertainment:
1.) Blood 2.) Sex 3.)Violence
I have heard of too many people saying we are exposed too many of the above and soon will be corrupted morally by them.
Well, that's a lame/crap/nonsensical way of saying I am too lazy / no time to teach my children about that.
Yes, I agree that work is important.
Keeps the money flowing, bill are paid and life is easier to get by.
There are times where the fundamentals of life has to be taugh;
-Not all the time fairy tales have good endings.
-Death is not pretty, nice or glamourous
-Life is tough but manageable if you have the tenacity and fortitude.
-Nothing comes to you if you do nothing
-Keep an aim in life. At least, you won't be joining the dozens of mindless sad sods who don't anything other than earning money and thinking money is magic pill to be happy.
-Education is the key to a better future and understanding not to a life of luxury and laze around while money is dropped from the sky.
I think that parenting is a full time job and no way, it can be pushed/out sourced/pass the buck to teacher, maids or tutors.
No matter what we, human being are animals......with reason.
Occasionally our animal half will surface; that children does not carry my gene. Why should I take good care of them?
Why do you think Cinderella's stepmom is such beee-atch?
The same thing a Lion from another pride will kill another pride's cubs so as eliminate previous genes and carry its own genes by *screwing* the now cubless lioness.
Now I am not saying that all humans are animals with beastly qualities.
Otherwise I am one meself too.
But some will allow the animal half to take control and do acts of cruelty/beastiality/animalistics.
Believe it will always seek manifest itself inside all humans.
Even I will get it.
Either by feeling offended when people stare me or people challenge me by shouting at me.
I think I will continue the BSV (Blood, Sex & Violence) thing next round.

Descendents of the Dragon
Descendents of the Dragon (Approximate meaning)
In the fast east, there is a river; the name is “Chang Jiang” (Yangtze River)
In the fast east, there is a river; the name is “Hwang Her” (Yellow river)
Although I have not seen the beauty of “Chang Jiang”, in my dream, I have dreamed of swimming in its waters.
Although I have not seen the power of “Hwang Her”, in my dream, I have imagined the power of the waters in the my dreams.
In the olden east, lives a dragon; her name is Chung Kuo (China)
In the olden east, comes a group of people and they are all called “Descendents of the Dragon”.
Under the huge feet of the dragon where I live, growing up to a Descendent of the Dragon. Black eyes, Black hair & Yellow skin are always the Descendents of the Dragon.
The hundred years of serenity, the night before great change, cannons shattered the quiet night, swords from four directions comes.
The cannons roared for years, how many years, and how many youth?
The Great Dragon wipes its eyes, wipes its eyes……..
The Meaning of this Song:
I am no expert or scholar for that matter.
But I think whoever wrote this is chronicling the saga of the Overseas Chinese who went outside of China to seek their fortunes. It describes they have never seen Yangtze river or the Yellow river.
Plus the distinct identity of the Chinese people is their appearance.
Then great divide of the Chinese people in China at the start of the Chinese civil war just after World War 2 and metaphorically, China as the great Dragon who weeps and yearns for the unification of its people year after years.
What do you guys out there think?
Oh yeah, guess what?
I found out about my family roots recently;
1.) Great-Great Grandpa is from China, Chao Zhou, Pu Ning.
2.) Great Grandpa is born locally
3.) Grandpa is born locally too
4.) My Dad
5.) Me!
That makes my family hanging in this place for 4 generations.
Plus the reason why my family are closer to the West because Great-great Grandpa is an English speaking man from China who is a scholar in the Ching government in anyway is a lot more liberal than the traditional ones.
You know the ones who think China is center of the world, they are the most cultured people compared to the “gwailos”.
Bad point; we sucked in Chinese and dialect. I managed to learn Chinese & dialect from my Taiwanese relatives.

I am back !!!
Yes!
I am back from my Reservist training.
From 19th April to 25th April, we have been transported to Pulau Tekong camp; heading towards this place called San Yong Kong camp.
This camp looked like it was built by Command & Conquer fans.
You have barracks, generators and a very spartan sanitary system laid out like a RTS game map with complimentary guard tower.
It's amazing how this island which is a ferry ride away from mainland could be so stuffy in the day and the temperature could plummet a mind numbing 20 plus degrees celsius by midnight.
I was shivering on my 1st night there.
My mates told me I was snoring and the snoring resembled that of a revving engine.
Hee hee hee.......
The grand finale of this act took part on a sunday night, the entire unit was sent forth on a marching order to the darkest part of island (in my own words).
Yes! It is darkest tekong for you Noobs out there. So dark that you can't see your own hand.
But yet, you have to be disciplined enough to resist the urge to use a torch.
Of course, there is help in a form of a glow strip stuck to the soldiers' helmet as a guide through the darkness.
I surfed thru the darkness from 12am to 4am, emerging at a beach.
An hour or so, I saw the sun rise from the eastern horizon.
I spent an hour staring at it; never so glad before seeing it.

I will be going to my Reservist (to the Americans known as National Guard) at Palau Tekong or in English, Tekong island.

National Guard aka "Weekend Soldiers"; Once a year, Once a month, 2 weeks a month.
Yes, that is applies too for Singaporean Reservists.
Someone once pop the question of "Are you willing to die for Singapore?" in the net.
Well, how about I phrase another way: "War is not about dying for your country. It's about making the other SOB die for his instead!" Gen. Patton.
War is not pretty. Period.
The dweeb who says it is 1.) a twerp who hasn't served in the military 2.) some MOFO with ulterior motive 3.) Warlord in the making.
Also I would like to address to people out there who lives in Singapore particularly; Singapore is small fricking island 24km across.
No hostile nation in their right mind will NUKE SingaFuckingpore.
Capish? Comprende? Understand?
Why?
A 16 kiloton (that is 1,000,000 tonne of TNT, I think) NUKE can destroy Hiroshima which is 20 something KM in diameter. The Nuke's name is "Little Boy".
It is probably the smallest nuke with the minimal strength of "Bang!" factor used.
Today Man's got Nukes that can destroy cities faster than I can have an orgasm!
Back to the point, if anyone nuke Singapore. He's gonna blow a lot of money to built the infrastructure he just busted which is counter productive. Plus the potency of modern nukes is such that the radioactivity will remain for hundred of years to come. That's not including the radioactive matter that will be spread to the neighbouring countries.
If anyone who says about Singapore is soooo small and can destroyed by a nuke.
Tell him/her/it to shut up and quit confusing real life and games altogether!
Plus the 1000 bombers raids idea; that is not going to work too!
Why? Whose gonna be so dumb as to use 1000 bombers with proppellers or jets, load them with incendiaries and burn Singapore to the ground?
First, it is a waste of money to buy 1000 bombers and built the hangars to house them, not to mention the amount of fuel to power them and the time to train the crews.
Second, Mordern War is about conquest. Not about loot, plunder and pillage like Attila the Hun.
Third, Singapore must blind as a bat to not see the obvious signs of 1000 bombers.
(Quit the idea of buying 1000 B-2s. It's not gonna happen. Uncle Sam is not selling his favourite scarecrow for a quid!)
A more likely scenario is that; Singapore (God forbid) will be blockade by an enemy navy in a bid to lay siege. The skies will be harrassed by aircrafts causing fear & certainty to the civilians and anyone who dares to leave the air space. An amphibious landing will almost be certainly be pulled off in a bid to take the island over.
The Singapore Armed Forces will fight an urban war similar to Stalingrad.
Know this; 250,000 men are soldiers to the country. The densest armed population in South East Asia per square km.
Oh yes, the million dollar question of paying your ministers or ministahs top dollar so that he does his job well.
The old adage says " You pay peanuts, you get monkeys."
I couldn't agree with that more.
Of course, the ministah had better not be an useless pissant who twiddle his thumb and assume the whole country is OK while he sips his cocktail/mocktail/vodka in his office.
I suppose 2 million smackaroos a year is alright for the Prime Ministah if he can do his stuff.
I know, I know.........PM and his band of men shouldn't be paid sooooo much.
That's conventional wisdom.
And most seasoned men would tell you that conventional wisdom seldom make sense at all.
Well, it is a lot of moolah to me. I confess that.
This will go on and on. Like God is man or woman.
So let's see what happens later this year.....
I've gotten my hands on the a G36c replica! Cool man!
One more stuff for my cosplay booty.....Yay!
One more stuff for my cosplay booty.....Yay!
Plus my first in a lifetime event.......I ate my 1st T-bone steak!
Pathetic huh?

Sunday, March 18, 2007
At last, my swords props has arrived! If given choice, I would prefer a metal one but I, being a bungling nincompoop wouldn't want have it.
Besides when I have kids, Bad idea to let then play with it.
So......plastic is ideal.
I was humming the 倚天屠龙记 tune by Adam Cheng in the 1980s.
Because I fantasize one of the swords to be the "Yi Tian Jian" aka in English as "The Sword of the Heavens".
I was reciting the tagline of the show:
"Dao Ba Tu Long, sei yi zheng feng,
Yi Tian How Ling tian Xia, sei bu fu cong?"
In approximate English means:
" The Blade that slays dragons; who does not contest for it?
The Sword of the Heavens reigns supreme; who does not acknowledges it?"
Which of course, makes me think of getting a "Tu Long Dao".
Later, I will get one.
My next issue to rant is the local issues of "Gamers & Non Gamers";
This is biggest thing ever to the shores of Singapore in 1999; CS or better known as
Counter Strike.
Somehow over the years, a class of people has formed from this phenomeneon:
1.) Gamers
2.) Non Gamers
Gamers are defined as people who are proficient in playing games; able to play competently in any form of games from X-box to PC to PS2.
While Non Gamers are defined as people who have coordination problems and generally can't play competently in any games platform.
I don't think so.
Anyone can be one if they can their hearts & mind to it.
Plus some training on the fundamentals of Gaming.
The so called Gamers would probably liked to keep this circle of exclusive class to themselves.
Why? It makes them feel like Superstars in their own right.
Which is why I would prefer to bring this concept of "You Game, I Game and Everyone Game" to the masses.
It gives people a sense of accomplishment and brings these "divas in the making" down to reality.
Otherwise it irks me to see these type of people swagger and boast how pro they are, how L337 they are and how many frags they chalked up.

1942 to 2006, 15th Feb
Ok, so it's a late to post this.
But it is a culmination of event and such after Feb 15th 1942.
What is special about 15th Feb 1942?
It's is the fall of Singapore, a day by which the British army surrendered the Japanese Imperial army from the lack of vital supplies and ammunitons.
Of course, table tops freaks can go on and on about.........but the fact remains: The Brits surrendered and 3 yrs 08 months of Tyranny, Despotism plus a dose of killings follows.
(Like which war is bloodless.....must be an amateur/naive/noob to assume so)
Remember "The Price of Peace" ?
That was emotional man.
The Japs went on ramapage (think Attila the Hun times 1000 going on drunken, ecstasy high sex orgy plus Inquisition style tortures) on the local populace.
Ever watched Jap AV porn? Something like that with Cannibal Holocaust.
The show makes many viewers so pissed until a tad too many were smashed their TVs with "2 by 4" planks. I too was pissed beyond words.
If I have Minigun (You know, the 6 barrelled gun held by Vulcan Raven), I would gladly use it those scumbags and scream: "Who's your daddy? Who's your daddy now!"
Plus Operation Sook Ching! *Dramatic music of you choice*
On attempt to curb the local from uprising and turning to insurgents,
the Japs ordered men from 18 to 40 to called at check points around the island and then.........
*No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!!! Or was it the Kempeitai ?*
The Kempeitai is the Imperial Japanese army's military police, it is a hybrid between the Gestapo and Inquisition.
Many male folks were taken to secluded spots and *Daka! Daka! Daka! Daka! Daka!*
What were you expecting? Fire crackers?
No! Gunned down like Al Capone's Valentine Massacre .
This went on for 2 weeks.
Simultaneously the womenfolk had their problems. Anything with a C**T, walks on 2 legs, has boobs and look saucy enough gets violated sexually by the Imperials.
The Imperials think this is their right to ravish any remale as victors of a conquered land.
Ever heard "Winning Hearts and Minds"?
Guess not.
Oh yeah! The Nanking Massacre!
China's biggest thing thing since the Cultural Revolution aka The Big Reset button.
That makes Jonestown look like Halloween and Abu Gharib look like a Tea Party.
Anything that walked on 2 legs, looks Chinese is violated, killed, tortured in whatever idea any Jeffrey Dahmer wannabe can come up with.
Watch the movie named "Don't Cry, Nanking" (I think)
And be pissed, angry and upset for a few days.
Trust me, you get the feeling you wanna kill those Imperials and when you are done.
You'll get an orgasm so high that even I think you will come in you pants.

The Choice of Weapon for killing such fiends!
BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT.
An Eye for an Eye makes the World go Blind.
Tit for Tat.
No, Justice is dispensed in the Court. Not with vilgilante ideals.
It is tempting to feed on this feeling of vengeance.
But Believe me, you wouldn't want to feed it anymore after that.
As Yoda would have said: Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Hate, Hate leads to Suffering.
Which leads to the movie, "Letters from Iwo Jima".
There are some who don' wanna watch. Says it makes them sympathise the Imperials, makes the Imperials look like victims and such.
The point in whatever the story shows remains the same; The Allies won, The Axis lost. Period.
Nothing more can more obvious.
Debate all you want.
Uncle Sam and his Friends won while Hitler and his loser ilk are crying in their underwear.
But it is a culmination of event and such after Feb 15th 1942.

Here's looking at you!
This is most impressive line I ever read in an English book:
"You have committed the Ultimate Heresy. Not only have you turned your back on the Constitution, you have profaned its name and almost destroyed everything We, the people have striven to built. You have perverted and twisted the path our forefather has laid for We, people to tread. There can be no mercy for a crime, no pity for such criminal. I renounce your regime!
Your sentence is long overdue and it is now time for you to die!"
The story is about a country that started out as utopia where no man would be beneath another man. Then a dicatator took over and rule the country with iron fist. Thousands die by his quest for power. A popular rebel leader consolidated the various factions in a one single coherent confederation.
But the rebels did not send the country in chaos. They removed the tyrant only and ruled the country by their country's constitution which they hold so dear in the hearts.
A Country's constitution is what I feel: Sacred.
Should the any leader stray from the constitution and begin to rule on their whims is what I regard as a Tyrant.
Emperor Qin, Marcos, Stalin and Cauchescu of Romania are all tyrants & dictators.
They all have problems trying not to be show offs.
Every now and then, they will show their opulent wealth which they plundered from the people with impunity.
I wanted always say this to them: " May your children have no anuses. If it's boy, he's a thief. If it's girl, she's hooker. Plus may all of them be infetile!"
Yeah, baby! Good riddance to these villains!

Ignorance, Ignorance, Ignorance.......
Well, I am a sucker of science and techs.
I went again......to the Science Center.
And holy smoke!
Talk about sci fi creatures; scientists actually found one on Earth: in the bottom of deepest end of the sea.
A snail with armour plates!
But wait! This snail didn't use calcium or limestone for its shell like other snails.
It uses iron!
Yes! Iron.
The son of a gun uses iron for growing its shell.
Scientist actually used magnets to test the shell's magnetic property and yes!
It attract the shell. (OMG)
Why I get the feeling the bugger is not at the bottom of the food chain like all snails.......
Unless there's a predator which feeds and digests on iron based lifeforms.
Then I saw the crabs exibits. 1.) The Spider Crab 2.) The Tasmanian Crab 3.) The Champagne Crab 4.) The Snow Crab
It's interesting to note that these creatures are big (I mean big!) and they live in the deep sea.
The Tas Crab weights 14kg with pincer as big as a vise. Woah!
I did ask up why.
The reason I got is that the sea didn't limit the size, weight and mass of the animals & creatures living in it compared to terrestrials (land based) animals.
The pull of Gravity is lesser than that of dry land.
And that's why you won't be seeing man sized cockroaches and beetles anywhere in dry land.
At least, that's how the theory goes.
I always never like the idea to view science as a form of oddity.
But to some people, they are.
I always observed that parents (some not all) who brought their children to science center, they themselves are just clueless and hence they can't explain anything to their kids. They just tell their kids: "So farny wan! Hahaha!"
I dunno, Man. I wanted say that: " What have you been have been doing for the past 20 odds years of you life? This is basic science and you dont' know about it? "
Of course, that would have been politically incorrect.
Ignorance is the bane of modern day life.
It allows one to take ascendency over the lesser one by virtue of knowledge.
Exanple: The natives were awed by the Spainish with their muskets and cannons. Of course, you and me will just say; Guns. Seen that before.
But consider this: In today's competitive atmosphere, it is important to not stay ignorant like a stone age guy lest an iron guy shows up with his iron made bells and whistles.
And because he have not seen or made an iron based gadget before will start fawn and worship the Iron guy like a god.
Because the iron guy will figure out this is good chance to knock a few cheap deals for himself since this stone guy know squat.
I wouldn't blame the stone guy for that.
But it's no excuse for us here to stop learning and stop pushing ourselves to the limit.
We have the Internet, we have the will to learn and we have the edge to prove it.
The only thing is Do we want to do it?

Yikes! Are we lagging behind or what?
This is bizarre man!
I was manning my sales booth which was selling PC games.
Every now & then I had to demo my wares to the crowd.
Of course being a good serviceman, I had to let potential customers have a go at the games.
Here's the suprising part: A Korean boy about 10 yrs of age (Expatriate family, I guess) took about 10 mins to understand the controls of a PC game and was able to handle with competency in the game. He was having fun and laughing away.
After that he thanked me for letting him play, I said: "No problem."
A local boy took over him (same age from the looks of it). He didn't bother to read the controls or understand what the PC game is all about.
3 mins into game, he was frustrated and angry.
I told him gently to read the instructions. He gave me a pissed look, hammered the keyboard and stormed off.
That's wasn't very nice.
The next kid joined in. This time, an older one about 11 years old.
Also the same behavior, didn't read the instructions and was also struggling with the game.
He asked me help him play. I did and sometime later, he asked me hand over the controls to him. So I did.
When he ran into something he can't handle, he asked me intervene again.
This went on until I went to handle a customer service issue.
But this incident left me something: Local kids on the whole aren't just on par with the kids from Korea, Japan or USA. Maybe I am wrong.
A small minority like the ones from Well-to-do Families and the wealthy elites most probably can handle them.
My niece and nephew who has a wealthy dad can handle more maybe just as well as myself when it comes to competition.
I thanked my mom & dad for giving a good education & teaching me to value education above all.
Which an event like WCG or CPL comes in mind; How can anyone field a credible team that can take on formidable ones like UK or USA if the common man can't even handle a simple PC game?
Look for the elites? Elites are minority for goodness sake!
They are too few in IMHO to for a decent player.
Plus this is compounded by the fact that many are PC tech challenged.
"My PC is XP wan!" "XP can work always!"
This is most common answer I get when I asked for the PC configuration from some customers.
Windows XP is the OS (Operating System)
It is not the CPU or the speed or the graphics card in your PC.
BTW PC means Personal Computer.
If you don't even know your PC config, can it be called Personal?
Also I got cases like customers buying the one & only PC of their lives.
Again I got railed by them for selling too advanced games.
Man, I can go on and on.
As any guy would have told you it's bad biz to bad month your customers.
So I would just stop from here.
The point is that the common citizenry is so tech challenge that many think that a PC is a just fancy entertainment tool.
In reality, it is not.
It's better than an X Box or PS2 because one can cutomised it or upgrade it when the invoilved parts is old.
Every1 know that you can't do that with the X Box or PS2.
What's more I feel that Counterstrike has poisoned my nation's people mind.
What I meant is the CS as it is called; has its poularity attributed to the game's ease of playing and low system requirement.
Resulting hundreds of LAN shops that specialises in CS only opening up in 1999. Most of them closed in 2003 when the boom busted.
But the game left an indelible mark in the nation's youth's psyche.
They play only CS and nothing else. Everything is nonsense except CS.
Even when the game is outdated in the fast moving world of PC gaming, people still clung onto CS like it's the anchor of their lives.
Till today, I get people asking: "Do you sell CS?"
Yes, I do play CS. But after the better games has been produced, I moved on to other games.
I owned CS my skill, tactics and strategies.
I used what I learned and apply it to other games. (Which I think is the way to go)
Not just spend your life perfecting CS, only to find out it's a game of the Bygones era.
Then there's Warcraft 3, again the whole thing / shebang starts............
Why not? It also have low system requirements plus the ever popular mod, DOTA.
I just do not understand why people would play and stake their time in winning this outdated game.
I need some1 to enlighten me on this. Anyone?
Here's the problem our country faced on the whole: (The majority not minority)
1.) PC tech challenged (Don't know your PC systen configuration)
2.) PC Gaming skill challenged (Narrow point of view and thinks winning is everything)
3.) No drive to improve oneself (The PC you buy is the 1 and only you need in your whole life)
More to come in the next entry!

Ladies and Gentelmen,Something Different!
Allow me to introduce this book:
Carl Sagan's The Demon Haunted World.
This book when I read it first in 2001 blew me away.
It shows science as a light in the mental darkness of one's mind.
Things that cannot be explained by science is considered to be miracle or simply magic to many.
But it explains how people shouldn't do that. Because ignorance is not bliss at all.
It make people's mind shallow and unable to seek a better life for themselves.
No, I am not talking about money making.
I am not a rich guy at all.
(The Rich can have ignorant people in their ranks too. What makes anyone think the Rich are smart as well as savvy?)
Money doesn't solve at all problems. It make things done easier.
The book also says about the Basis of Founding a credible country which I liked and why I at times being an amatuer scientist takes some time off being a political historian.
(Ah ha! I don't certainly denounce my government for a bunch of piss ants!)
Remember my fellow country men: "Real Patriots ask questions."
It is sad part of us that we have a habit of tendency repeat the same mistakes again & again.
We are afraid of people who's a little different from us.
When scared, we start pushing people around
That's not important part here.
We Can Be Manipulated into Utter senselessness by clever politicians.
Like a hypnotist, Give us the right leader and we'll gladly do anything he wants including thing we know to be wrong.
( So my countrymen, it is important to go to school, studying and understand what you studying about. Rather then just get the grades and don't know what heck you're here for!)
History has taught us that the powerful and well to do will steal and oppress if given the chance.
The olde government of Europe (in the 1700s to 1800s) under the pretense of Goverment divided their nation into 2 classes: the Wolves and Sheep or (The Eater and the Eatee!)
Thomas Jefferson when serving as an ambassdor in Europe had observed the goverment under the kings and royalty degenerates when it is left to the rules alone. Because rulers by the acts of ruling- misuse public trust.
The citizen/people are the only prudent depository of power. And the people's minds must be improved to know that.
English philosopher, John Stuart Mills reasoned that "Silencing an Opinion" is a peculiar evil.
If the opinion is right, then people are robbed of the "chance of exchanging the error for the truth" & if it is wrong, people are deprived of a deeper understanding of the truth in "its collusion with error".
Mills also states: "If society lets any considerable number of its member grow as mere children, incapable of being acted on by rational consideration of distant motives, society has itself to blame."
Jefferson made the same point with a punch: " If any nation expects to both igonrant and free in a state of civilization, it expect what never was & never will be."
"A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both & deserve neither." He added.
Therefore when permitted to listen to alternative opinions & engage in subtantive debate, people have known to change their minds. It does happen.
My Mom wanted 2 of us to be in the big 3 jobs: Engineer, Accountant & Doctors.
Well, I didn't make it and winded as a PC games guy and my brother as a psychologist.
She accepts that times have changed.
So what? The big 3 jobs are for the bygones era in the 1980s Boom period.
Stop dreaming about the big 3 jobs! Find your own future and carve a destiny out!

Gamers Gamers Gamers
Why is my country's gamer culture so backward? Or is it?
Just what is the crazy obsession with Counterstrike and Warcraft 3?
These games are sooo yesterday!
I have some pretty cool games like Dawn of War, Battlefield: Modern Battles,.
Yet, they have reached popularity levels no where as CS or WC.
What is wrong with people these days?

Yet, they have reached popularity levels no where as CS or WC.
What is wrong with people these days?
I am back from Reservist! I am married and other rants....
Oh yeah!
I am married officially (in documents) to Jean.
The sad thing is that my gramps joined the Choir Invisible in Feb 2006.
What can I say?
The guy's a stubborn man.
When I tried to send him to a doc.
He would delcared: "It's nothing! I am feeling better! I am taking a walk!"
My ass. 6 mths later, I sent him to the hospital and the doc asked me: " Is he a smoker?"
"Yes! He smokes when he was a teenager and quitted when I was kid."
"That explains the 5 cm tumour in his lung."
"I am not suprised, doc. I know I know, he's gonna be no more."
"Bingo on that." say the doc.
"1 week and he will go." He said.
"That's fast."
" What? You want him to suffer another 6 mths?"
"Not really."
"Got any will?"
"Nope. He's not well off."
" Well, he comes in with nothing and goes with nothing. Swell." The Doc said.
Anyway, he lasped in a coma and joined the Heavenly Host after that.
I am not really sad for him not since I lost my old man.
After all, no one lives forever........
I was grateful for him playing my surrogate dad for my teenage years.
He told me that he also lost his dad (great grand pa) when he was a baby.
Life was hard in the 1930s Singapore. It's a bit better now, I think.
He had join secret society (chinese gang) in his youth.
Singapore back then was a rough place to grow up.
1 in 3 children never lived to see adulthood due to BADDD sanitary conditions.
Just then he has seen all it, WW2 came and 3 yrs 8 mouths of Japanese occupation follows.
2 of my grand uncles were "Sayonaraed" by the Operation Sook Ching.
And he became the sole survivor.
After the war, he became a "pirate cab" (Unlicensed taxi) owner, operate a book store and got to know my grand ma.
He told me about then the concept of free love was alien in the 1950s Singapore. Most couples are match made. He did just that (free love) that is to look for life mate actively.
Grandma is illiterate. Gals back than don't go to school (mostly) on ground that they just grow and marry off. So to most really traditional (Backwards in today's terms) Chinese familes, boys are educated and gals......don't get that.
But Grandma's streetwise plus Grandpa's rough upbringing in the streets made it an ideal match.
One of Grandpa ideas in making money in 1950s was selling of Porn!
Yes! Porn existed back then. But it was not titilating as today's.
He sold Porno mags from Europe to the Brits community.
Enough of him;
I married Jean after 3 yrs of courtship.
Now I am arranging for the wedding dinner to held in a hotel.
Reservist!
365 days, 14 days a year.
That sums up reservists duties in my country.
This time, it was army evaluation time.
The brass put up a 2 weeks training regime of costal crossing via boat, marches inland and digging in for defense.
I wasn't exactly the fittest guy around.
But this time, I drew a lot of strength from my mental will and dicovered things I don't normally do.
For a start, the coastal landing was boring but there're guys who puked in the rocky waters.
Then the long march inland..........Helmet, rifle plus a 10kg radio set with 8 mags of ammo is Heavy when one marches kilometers to reach a military objective.
Normally I would kneel over after 1 hrs of marching. But this time, I went on and on. Then it rained at 3 am. Great! A company of men huddled under a shelter to avoid the rain.
"This is soooo Brokeback Mountain." One guys remarked.
After the rain, the march resumed until daylight.
At daylight, it was breaktime. I got everything off and took a long sleep until late afternoon.
The 2nd mission, another march to a grassy knoll in the jungle.
This time it was a wild adventure.
I and an another guy was scouting for "enemies" when we took a wrong turn ran into a mob of "enemies"; with jeeps and trucks.
We fired wildly at them and ran back to our outfit.
They followed naturally. But our outfit was waiting for them........plus we had artillery support in our hands.
What happened was a barrage of gunfire (blanks shots) with a dose of rocket fire left and right.
The witnessing officer screamed: "Enough! Enough! You win! They lost! Ok?"
"Ok. Guys, you can go back to camp. You are all "killed" "He told the enemies' In charge.
My Outfit's officer asked: " Can we take break now? "
"Sure."
We took a break until 5 am & resumed the march to the knoll.
At 7 am, we reached the knoll and waited for rest of the unit to arrive.
The final mission, my unit was to dig in and hold the position.
We have 3 battalions of hostiles laying siege to our position.
My CO came up with a daring plan; he will lead our 3 companies to harass them.
1 company will hold the position.
I was left behind to monitor radio comms;
The fighting was intense. 30min in the fight, there was chaos in the radio net.
Then this guy was injured (simulated) and that guy was dead (simulated) or which squad was wipe out.
Our reserve company was being readied to move in when the brass declared:
"OK, Exercise cut!"
Yes, finally the whole thing had ended.
After that, it is back to camp and go home time.
Enough of him;
I married Jean after 3 yrs of courtship.
Now I am arranging for the wedding dinner to held in a hotel.
Reservist!
365 days, 14 days a year.
That sums up reservists duties in my country.
This time, it was army evaluation time.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Well, it is that time of the yeay in Singapore where "Gong Xi Fa Cai" is mutter like parrot everywhere.
You know: Gong Xi Fa Cai mean in English; congrats to you getting rich.
Rich.....that words has varied definations nowadays, one might be poor in a 1st world country and rich in a 3rd world country.
Personally I would prefer "Xin Nian Kuai Le" : Happy New Year in Chinese.
Or as the Vulcans say in Star Trek: "Live Long and Prosper."
Well, I am also getting hitched in April with my GF for 3 years, Jean.
She's insisting that I get an English name.
So I chose "Davis."
In honour of my late dad, David.
Davis & Jean; I wonder.......

My Off Day and My Fav Spot
On my off day when I am not with my fiancee, spending time with her.
I would got to the Science Center to relax myself, destress and such.
Yeah, I am a sucker for Science stuffs. It never fails to fascinate me after all these years.
Fact is that ever when I was boy, I would pester my dad to take me there every weekend.
Now that, he's gone (He's passed away 16 years ago.). Guess I have do it myself.
I found out that the Singapore Science have a latest addition: a Water Play Park.
I think it's pretty cool for an education center to have that.

I am Tired.....Knocked out....Argh!!!
Owww........my legs, after days of Full shift at a Shopping center ( I was promoting my company's stuffs there), my brain is down to the basic functions and I don't my middle name anymore plus I gonna have problems reacting to Adult Action Movies. ( I am too tired to be aroused)
But YES! I have sold lots of stuffs and showcased sucessfully my company's mechandise to the consumers.
One thing I don't get it; there ARE people against PC games.
What the heck man? This is the Age of Internet. You need PCs to know what's going on!
I get to listen to reasons like I don't wanna my kids to addicted ( who does?) or
It's promotes violence ( This is a world where you must fight your rights, you Hippy!) and degrades peace ( Oh yeah, smoking Weeds promotes peace? Then why ban it?)
The really outlandish ones are like: I don't have time to know so much or Ask my maid! or No Money.....(Yeah, right. Excuses, Exschmuses, Schcuses........why don't you say just say Woah! That's new stuff to learn. )
Pride is something we can afford to live without. ( Like it can generate interest.....)
Or your knowledge which is something most people I know just stuff it in one corner or "give back to the teacher". ( No, it can't generate Interest in banks if you keep and don't use it)
Ignorance is a Bane of our society in which it promotes Dumbness, stupidity & the "I dunno" culture.
" I follow the instruction can already!" is the classic word to say when one gets in tight spot.
You know, your parents don't invest time & money in your dumbness or ignorance which can proven in seconds.
Rather they wanna invest in your knowledge and savvyness which take minutes and some analysis to find out. Mind you that takes decades of cultivating!
Which is why people are losing jobs to places like the Middle Kingdom and Western Paradise. They can say the same thing and do the same stuffs for a lower price even lower......for a pair of SHOES! ( Nasty sweatshop owners, they ought be Iron maidened!)
Game Culture is something I would love to have in my country.
For now it's confined to a certain of people who are hard core players.
Also it is something that needs to be trained and cultured from young.
Please don't follow the Bad ones ( Spent 20 hour a day playing, 1 meal a day and no toilet breaks!)
RIDICULOUS!!!
I'll in the WCG 2005 Finals as a Corperate Guest! I am proud to represent my country as part of this Event!

My 1st Blog
Ok, this is me 1st or virgin blog ( you like the term).
Frankly speaking, I have dabbling with PC for a long time from my first Apple Mac in 1988 to my 1st IBM compatible (a 386 PC with 2 MB ram) in 1991 to my first Pentium in 1996 to my current AMD which is fast becoming obsolete in 6 months time. ( I think so)
My! The world of computers is a fast one! I have been BBSing in the 1990s then with the introduction of the Internet, I have never looked back ever since.
I have been playing games since the time of Atari, Nintendo and Sega not to mention Neo Geo. PC also included.
Remember, X-com: UFO defense, X-com: Terror from the Deep and Wing Commander?
(If you born within the 1970s & the 1980s, you most probably do)
Still, playing game now though in my late 20s. I am 30 next yr. Old man by gamers' standard.
I work in many professions before; I was a Chef apprentice (Yes, I do know how to cook), a Sales Assistant ( kinda of common job in Singapore), a Dept store supervisor
and now a PC Games guy! Cool huh?
Today as always, I prefer to work outside my office. I never liked to coop myself in the office and pretend everything is fine.
(Think of an Ostrich, I know I know, they don't do that in the real world)
Hey, no one ever told you that work these days are just going to the office and incubate your rear end from 9 to 5 & go home.
Although I wanted that sort of job, but the reality is that: Nope. They don't EXIST these days.
Evening at 7 to 8 pm, I go home and enjoy a dose of Nat Geo or Discovery channel.
Anything but our local channel.......I got pissed by their innane (that's a polite word to use) plots and bizarre characters portrayals. Oh yeah, I have plethora of "colorful" words for them.
Somehow, it's uncouth, vulgar and coarse. ( As rough as grade zero sandpaper)
Long live Cable TV!

I stumbled on this catchy song from the upcoming Disney cartoon: Chicken Little.
I ran a check in the Net & found it was sung by O-zone, a Romanian song group.
It is called "Dragoste din tei" but it is known by it's popular name: the "Numa Numa" song.
This is outrageous version:
